Adobe Photoshop: The Stress Reliever for the Tech-Savvy
In a world where many people require technology to be fast and stress-free, that is often not the case. Computer viruses and programming problems boggle the mind and cause frustration among gadget users but there is one piece of technology that is one of the best stress relievers that I have ever used and it is called Adobe Photoshop.
Photoshop is a popular graphics editing program that is produced by Adobe Systems. There is also the commonly used internet slang verb ‘to photoshop’; which means to manipulate images using a graphics program, even if the program is not Adobe Photoshop. ‘To photoshop’ is interchangeable with “photo manipulation”.
When opening Photoshop, you are greeted with a seemingly bleak grey screen with tool bars on the left and right hand sides. The real fun begins when you press the Ctrl key with the N. A new window will pop up and politely ask you input the dimensions of the new image that you are creating. If you have a lot of stress to relieve, it is suggested that you start with a larger image. Taking the paintbrush tool, you can use the cursor and start drawing over your white image. After completely covering the formerly-white image with colour, you can change the colour you are using and that will allow you to relieve even more stress.
If you are feeling that using only the paintbrush tool isn’t relieving as much stress as quickly as it is built up, take a deep breath and open up a new image. This time, use an image of someone that you are currently feeling less than happy with. Choose black and be detailed as you want to be as you are adding an uneven goatee and a curly moustache on the person you don’t like. Take it one step further by adding in red devil horns on top of the person’s head. This method has been tested out many times and proves to be an even more effective method of relieving stress.
The most tech-savvy way of relieving stress with Adobe Photoshop is fairly simple. First the photograph of someone you really dislike needs to be open and then you need to find a photograph of a goat with horns. This method that is about to be explained will take more patience than the other two methods of stress relieving but it is much more effective. Carefully selecting one of the goat horns, this can then be copied out of the goat image and pasted into the image with the person. Rotating it until it is at just the right angle and you’ve got half of a demon! By duplicating this goat horn and reflecting it horizontally, you will have identical horns on the person. This method is more time consuming than the above mentioned methods of stress relieving, however it is much more rewarding. Not only will you feel much better and stress-free at the end of completing your image, you will also have a new desktop to use on your computer! You can also resize the image a little smaller and make it into an icon to use on your instant messaging program.
Technology is meant to make our lives simpler and easier but, since that is not often the case, stress will build up. The best thing that you can do for yourself is to open up a new image on Photoshop and relieve some of that stress. Taking the time to place goat horns onto someone’s head may seem like it requires a lot of patience but it is healthier than keeping the stress inside. So the next time you feel stressed out, open Photoshop and make a new image; the stress will just dissipate.
