I like the way it hurts

I hum along to the melody in my head, I dance around the room
Knowing no one can watch me but you as my walls fall down.
You can see the tears rolling down my cheeks when I look up
Know you put them there, my heart’s being held between your hands.

My complicated layers are shed, bare it all, rub my skin raw,
You can turn your head away but you can’t block out the sound
Of my tears, my ineffectual fists against the walls.

You’re just going to stand there and watch me move,
Watch my layers fall because you strip them down and let them fall.

I can give you my heart because I like the way it hurts.
