Watch me dance (I love you)

There are just a few little things that I want
I’m going to be selfish, not wish for cures
And just a few little things that I need
Kisses on my lips, hands going down my sides;

Someone told me that I need to grow up
But I’ve still got dreams to work towards
I thought I wanted to be more than I am
What I love about you, you don’t hold me back;

Tell me all about how you have a dark side
I see the smile in your eyes, the warm embrace
A shy little eighteen year old told you once
She had a few dark little secrets too;

Trust you with my past, my dreams for the future
And everything in between, can’t I trust you
To hold me close and let me breathe
You watch me cry, watch me realize who I am;

What you see isn’t what you get with me
I open myself up to you, bleeding heart and all
You knew me when I struggled, when I flourished
But you fascinated me with your quiet approval;

I want you to watch me dance in the rain
Watch me when I scream your name into the night
But you know me, all of me, all that matters
I trust you with me, I love you.
